Do i need a router to make my internet connection wireless?

If u buy a somewhat good router today u can still use it for years to come. Even though it will be outdated it will still work. And u need a router to get wifi. Unless u got a hotspot. Which r expensive and business grade...like really big lost of things hooking to them.
