Is it normal being forever alone?

Haven't had friends since I was 10. Became socially awkward and reserved throughout high school. Now I'm a loner. Anyways I think people are just trouble and avoid company. Only interact with people @ school/work & it's always about business. I really have no relation to others because I like doing things my way too much. I'm 21 next month. I want to live alone and free too.
