What is the policy regarding social networking when it comes to law enforcement jobs?

I have a Facebook account for emailing purposes. In fact, I think of it as a game and having an account is advantageous and could be beneficial. I don't really post pictures or information about myself. How would this be viewed in a hiring process? I know they check this out.
